Diffabilities's Day Programs empower Friends with skills and opportunities that foster personal development and community involvement. Located in Edmonton and Sherwood Park, our inclusive day programs support your loved one on their journey to thrive each and every day.

Day Programs Done Differently

Your loved one deserves more than just a place to spend the day.

That’s why we focus on more than care alone:

Vocational Training

Our Friends build practical, hands-on skills that support independence and meaningful participation in the community. Through job coaching, workplace etiquette, and guided experiences, we help Friends explore interests, develop confidence, and work toward greater autonomy at their own pace.

Skill Development

From daily routines to discovering new hobbies, our programs focus on developing practical life skills that support independence. Friends learn through real-world experiences that build confidence, strengthen abilities, and encourage personal growth in everyday life.

Social Connection

We create a welcoming, inclusive environment where Friends build meaningful relationships and feel a sense of belonging. Group activities encourage communication, collaboration, and friendship, helping participants connect with others in ways that feel natural and supportive.

Personal Growth

Each program is designed around the individual goals, strengths, and interests of our Friends. We support personal development in a way that feels meaningful, empowering, and aligned with each person’s unique journey.

Community Engagement

Our programs extend beyond our space and into the community. Through outings and shared experiences, Friends build confidence navigating the world around them while strengthening their connection to the broader community.

Our Approach to Meaningful Support

At Diffabilities, our Day Programs are intentionally designed to support each individual’s growth, independence, and sense of belonging. Our approach is guided by the following principles:

  • Evidence-Based Practices.

We support vocational skills, self-regulation, and independence using proven, research-informed strategies that are grounded in real-world application and everyday life.

  • Individualized, Purposeful Experiences

Each Friend’s program is thoughtfully designed around their unique goals, strengths, interests, and support needs, ensuring their experience is meaningful and relevant to them.

  • Dedicated, Skilled Team

Our trained and compassionate team builds trusting relationships with Friends, providing consistent support in an environment that feels safe, encouraging, and respectful.

  • Inclusive and Welcoming Environment

No one is turned away from Diffabilities. We value diversity and create spaces where every individual feels accepted, respected, and supported for who they are.

Program Fees

Our Adult Day Program is primarily funded through the Persons with Developmental Disabilities (PDD) program. Most Friends attending our day programs have approved PDD hours that cover staffing, program facilitation, and core supports.

In addition, there may be monthly activity fees associated with the program. These fees help cover the cost of:

Outings and activities in the community

Arts, crafts, and recreational supplies

Transportation during program hours (such as bus fare, van use, or mileage)

Special events, guest workshops, or field trips

Have questions about your PDD funding or fees?

If monthly fees present a financial challenge, please reach out. Email us at [email protected]

We’re happy to help you navigate your PDD contract, understand your approved hours, or explore options for covering additional fees.

We’re committed to ensuring everyone can participate fully and will discuss support options with you.
