Summer should be a time of joy, exploration, and connection for everyone.
Our inclusive and engaging summer activities provide enriching experiences for individuals with developmental disabilities, fostering personal growth, social engagement, and plenty of fun-filled memories.
At Diffabilities, we believe everyone deserves the chance to grow, connect, and live with purpose.
We provide person-centred programs and supports that honour each Friend’s unique strengths. Our approach blends compassion, creativity, and evidence-based practices to help individuals build skills, confidence, and meaningful independence.
Diffabilities began with a simple belief: support should be meaningful, personal, and built around real opportunities for growth — not just “keeping people busy.”
From our early days in Edmonton and Sherwood Park to the community we’ve grown today, our focus has remained the same: Celebrate individuality, break down barriers, and create programs where our Friends can build skills, confidence, and genuine independence.
What started as a small team with a bold idea has grown into a community of passionate professionals, families, and Friends shaping a more inclusive future together.
We believe every person deserves the chance to grow, belong, and thrive — no matter their abilities or past experiences.
Growth Through Skills
Every Friend has unique strengths. We focus on building meaningful, real-world skills that foster confidence, independence, and lifelong learning.
Belonging Through Connection
Community changes everything. We create spaces where Friends feel safe, included, respected, and connected to people who genuinely care.
Purpose Through Possibility
We empower Friends to explore interests, discover passions, and build a life filled with purpose, joy, and possibility.
We’re not a traditional day program — and we don’t believe in “busy work.”
Our programs are designed to build real skills — communication, routines, independence, confidence — that translate into everyday life.
Every Friend learns differently. We adapt our approach to match their strengths, interests, and pace, ensuring everyone can grow in their own way.
Our team blends professional expertise with genuine connection. We don’t just support our Friends — we celebrate them, advocate for them, and walk alongside their families.
We welcome individuals of all abilities and backgrounds, including those who’ve been turned away elsewhere. Everyone deserves a safe and uplifting place to grow.

We know that preparing for summer activities comes with lots of questions, and we're here to help!
If you don’t see what you’re looking for, feel free to reach out. We’re happy to help make this summer an amazing experience for your child!
You will receive an email on the Wednesday before your child's start date with the daily schedule and activities. This allows us to plan around the weather and provide the most accurate information, ensuring a smooth and fun experience for everyone!
If the weather prevents outdoor activities, we have two fully equipped centers where programming can continue indoors. Our centers are climate-controlled and stocked with materials for a fun and engaging experience. Additionally, we may visit indoor community activities and events to keep the day exciting!
Our Teachers are trained to monitor hydration and temperature needs, ensuring all Friends stay safe and comfortable. We encourage regular water breaks and adjust activities as needed to keep everyone cool and hydrated throughout the day.
Our staff ratios are tailored to meet the unique needs of each Friend. We meet with families before to determine the level of support required and adjust staffing accordingly. Whether a child needs a 1:1 ratio or a different level of support, we ensure they have the care and assistance they need for a great experience.
Yes! Diffabilities Summer Activities are fully inclusive and welcomes all individuals (ages 5+) with disabilities. We work closely with families before to understand each child's sensory, physical, or support needs to ensure the best possible experience. Have more questions about accessibility? Contact us to discuss how we can accommodate your child!
Drop-off and pick-up take place at our two convenient locations: West Edmonton (17338 106A Ave NW) and Sherwood Park (41 Broadway Blvd #42). These centers provide a safe and accessible space for all friends. Please make sure your child is dropped off and picked up at the centre they are registered for.
We do not provide transportation to and from home, but we encourage families to use services like DATS (Edmonton) and Mobility Bus (Sherwood Park). If you need assistance arranging transportation or if transportation is a barrier to attendance, please contact us—we’re happy to help explore options!
Yes, we can accommodate early drop-off or late pick-up; however, this may require a different location. Please coordinate with our Teachers in advance to arrange the best option for your family member.
Yes! We provide transportation to and from activities during the activities, including accessible options to ensure all Camp Friends can participate fully and comfortably.
The cost of our Summer Activities depends on the funding available:
Adult Summer Activities
Service fees are covered through PDD hours.
A one-time, non-refundable $100 registration fee applies for each scheduled week of Summer Activities, covering outings and transportation.
Teen and Kid Summer Activities
Service fees are covered through FSCD hours.
A one-time, non-refundable $100 registration fee applies for each scheduled week, covering outings and transportation.
If funding is a concern, please contact us at [email protected]. We’re happy to explore support options and work with you to ensure cost is not a barrier to participation.
The registration fee is a one-time $100 fee for each scheduled week of Summer Activities. This fee covers outings, transportation, and additional planned activities for that specific week.
The registration fee is non-refundable because spots are limited and advance planning, staffing, and activity bookings begin as soon as a week is reserved. If a spot is cancelled, we may not be able to fill it on short notice, and the registration fee helps cover the administrative and preparation costs already incurred.
Yes, your child can still attend summer activities at Diffabilities even without PDD or FSCD funding. We understand that funding may not be available for everyone, so please contact us at [email protected] to discuss available support options. We are committed to ensuring that cost is not a barrier to your child's participation.
The $100 non-refundable registration fee is due at the time of registration for each scheduled week of Summer Activities.
Any remaining service fees are invoiced within 30 days after the completion of the selected week of Summer Activities. Invoices are due for payment within 30 days of receipt, and are billed in accordance with the funding arrangements explained above.
We ask that parents or guardians notify us in writing as soon as possible if they need to cancel a scheduled week of Summer Activities.
The $100 registration fee is due at the time of registration and is non-refundable. This fee secures the spot and covers the advance planning, staffing, and activity preparation required for that week.
If a cancellation occurs before the scheduled week takes place, no additional service fees will be invoiced. Service fees are only billed after the completion of the scheduled week
